About the Master Life Coach Certification
The ExpertRating Master Life Coach Certification is designed for counselors, coaches, and other experienced helping professionals who want to deepen their practical coaching skills and bring greater structure to their client work.
Through online courseware and introductory chapter videos, you will explore how to build a trusting coaching relationship, strengthen your coaching presence, assess a client's readiness for change, and support effective goal setting and accountability. The course also covers motivation, self-efficacy, purposeful inquiry, solution-focused coaching techniques, client assessments, and practical coaching tools and exercises.
You will learn how life coaching differs from psychotherapy, consulting, and mentoring, helping you work within clear professional boundaries. Dedicated modules provide educational overviews of the ICF Core Competencies released in September 2025 and the ICF Code of Ethics that took effect on April 1, 2025. These specific versions are taught as professional reference frameworks and should not be treated as substitutes for ICF's official publications or future updates.

Understanding Master Life Coach Credentials: ICF and ExpertRating
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is a global professional organization for coaching. This course provides educational overviews of the ICF Core Competencies released in September 2025 and the ICF Code of Ethics that took effect on April 1, 2025. These frameworks help learners explore ethical, client-centered coaching practice.
The ExpertRating Master Life Coach Certification is ExpertRating's own credential. ExpertRating is not affiliated with, approved by, or accredited by ICF. This course does not count toward ICF education, coaching-experience, mentor-coaching, performance-evaluation, or credentialing requirements.
If you are pursuing an ICF credential—ACC, PCC, or MCC—you must apply separately and satisfy the requirements for your chosen credential and application pathway. These may include specified coaching education, documented coaching experience, mentor coaching, a performance evaluation, and the applicable ICF examination. Requirements can change, so consult ICF before applying.
The ExpertRating certification can help you strengthen practical coaching knowledge and document your learning, but it does not replace an ICF credential, professional license, or regulated qualification.
