Transition to a New Score Report

They say change is the only constant. We, at ExpertRating, agree completely. In keeping with our company ethos of providing the best services to our valued clients, we continually strive to look for new ways to enhance the effectiveness of our services.

Our latest endeavor in this direction is the transition from our old report format based on Percentage Scoring System to a more elaborate and industry-oriented report format based on the Grading System. This switch has been made possible by our experience of testing over 5 million individuals over the last 10 years and is driven by the multiple advantages that the Grading System offers over the Scoring System.

Our new format of assessment reports will offer you better insights into the potential of a job candidate. In addition to reflecting the performance of the candidate on the test as a whole, the report will also reflect his/her performance on the topics covered in the test and will also allow you to see how the person compares with others who have taken the same test before.

Here's a quick look at how the new format is different from the old one.

    Overall Score

This Overall Score helps you make a hiring decision based on the candidate's overall performance on the test. The score is calculated on a 10-point scale ranging from 0 to 10. The scale is split into 4 bands of colors Yellow, Mustard, Orange and Red.

4 Bands of the Overall Score

    • Saffron Band - WEAK

The Saffron band denotes Weak performance. A score in this band indicates poor performance in the test as a whole.

    • Mustard Band - AVERAGE

The Mustard band denotes Average performance. A score in this band indicates average performance in the test as a whole.

    • Orange Band - GOOD

The Orange band denotes Good performance. A score in this band indicates an appreciably high score in the test as a whole.

    • Green Band - EXPERT

The Green band denotes Expert-level performance. A score in this band indicates a very high score in the test as a whole.

    Subject Analysis

This section helps you identify gaps in the candidate's knowledge by analyzing his/her performance on each topic covered in the test. Again, following the 10-point scale divided into 4 bands, the knowledge of the candidate is classified as "Weak", "Average", "Good" and "Expert".

The assessment reports will have three altogether new sections, Subject Coverage, Percentile Analysis and Accuracy vs Speed Analysis

    Subject Coverage

This section gives an overall view of the breadth of knowledge of the candidate to help you judge if the candidate has sufficient all round knowledge to deliver on the job. Candidates who demonstrate Good or Excellent knowledge in a sufficiently large proportion of topics of the test would be potentially suitable for hiring.

    Percentile Analysis

This section gives you an indication of how the candidate's performance matches up with that of the other people who have taken the same test before. A score in the 90th percentile means that the individual has performed better than 90% of all the people who have taken the test before.

    Accuracy vs Speed analysis

This section helps you indentify whether the candidate is fit for time-sensitive assignments. The score obtained here reflects the candidate’s speed in relation to reading, comprehending and processing the information, and answering the questions correctly in the test.

There are 5 levels of work speed – "Very Slow", '"Below Average", "Average", "Above Average" and "Very Fast".
