Creating a Web Page
Now you have defined a Web site. In fact, Dreamweaver has created a local version and a remote version. Now create your Web page.
- Select File --> New to bring up the New Document dialog box, as shown in Figure-2.6. To create a simple HTML page, Select basic page in the general tab and then select HTML. Click creates to create the page.

- As soon you click on the create button an untitled document appears. Click on the Design View button and then select Modify --> Page Properties from the menu as shown in the Figure-2.7.

- By default, the Appearance category is selected. Here, define the appearance of the default text on your page by selecting a font, size and text color. You can also choose a background color and image, and set the page margins. Change the settings as it is shown in the Figure-2.8.

The Tracing Image category is used to apply an image to the background of your page over which to trace your design. This image does not appear on the final page itself, but you can use it to help you determine the size and position of elements you place on the page. If you use a tracing image, you can also select the opacity here. When you've finished setting the document properties, click OK.
- Click the Title/Encoding category and type Home-Home Page in the title field.
- Click Ok to save your changes.
- Select File --> Save As to save the file. Select the folder c:\Home and name the file index.htm.
- After you click save, the tab located on the upper left of your document reflects the name you used.
- Click on the page to test the page as shown in the given Figure-2.9. Then select File--> Save to save the changes.

- To test the file in your primary browser, press F12. You may see the Dependent Files dialog box. This box tells you that the version of index.htm saved on the local machine is about to be uploaded to the testing server. Dream weaver uploads a copy of index.htm to the testing server. Then it opens a browser window, as shown in Figure-2.10 and requests the page from the testing server.
