Who Should Take This Test:
The US English Proofreading Skills Test (Chicago Style) is designed for professional proofreaders and editors who are native speakers of English and who are familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style.
Non-native speakers and non-professionals may find this test too challenging and may prefer to take the U.S. English Basic Skills Test for Non-native Speakers and
U.S. English Grammar Test.
What the Test Is About:
The questions on this multiple-choice test deal with the often subtle manuscript errors that professional proofreaders encounter in their daily work. Topics covered include errors in punctuation, number usage, documentation, indexing, grammar and usage, consistency, and accuracy. All questions and answers adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Chicago Manual of Style. | | Duration | 40 minutes.

Each question has between 2 and 8 options out of which 1 or more may be correct.
