The first lesson will share with you three different true-to-life survival scenarios and their outcomes. These stories will give students some common background that will be referred back throughout the course. This lesson will also discuss how your attitudes will affect your chances of survival. This lesson will put special emphasis on dealing with fears, developing a positive mental attitude, programming your mind, and setting survival priorities.

Now it's time to learn the importance of emergency shelters and how to construct them. This lesson will cover everything from selecting a proper campsite to using the proper materials. You'll learn all about both natural material shelters and tarp assisted shelters. Then this lesson will compare a few shelter types: snow shelters, hammock and suspended shelters, even desert shelters.

The ability to start a fire under any condition is essential to survival. This lesson will identify the three requirements you need for fire, where to build a fire, and what materials to use in the process. You'll also learn how to locate dry materials in the wild so you can be successful during the wet and stormy times. This lesson will compare various methods you can use to start fires, including chemical, spark, friction, and concentration of sunlight. You'll also learn how to start a fire with your flashlight and, believe it or not, two different methods of starting fire with water.

In this lesson, you'll learn how to cope with the cold. This lesson will compare hypothermia and frostbite—how to identify them and how to prevent them under survival conditions. You'll learn information on layering and accessories that will make you more comfortable on your next chilly venture. And you won't leave this lesson without an understanding of the wind chill factor.

Now it comes to gathering food for survival, so this lesson will be dedicated to wild plants, their identification, and their usage. But first, you'll gain an understanding of the various food substances: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Then this lesson will look at nature and see what it has to offer as appetizers, salads, potherbs, potato substitutes, seasonings, beverages, and desserts from the plants you'll find in the wild.

This lesson will explore more information about gathering food for survival, but this time the focus will be on adding wild meat to your diet. This lesson will start by discussing survival fishing. You'll learn how to make your own fishing pole, fishing line, and survival fishing hooks from materials you find in your environment. Then this lesson will show you how survival hunting is different from hunting as sport. You'll learn how to make a primitive bow and arrows, then this lesson will show you why survival trapping can be the most effective means for gathering meat in the wild. This lesson will also discuss using a variety of snares and deadfalls.

Water is also very important. So, this lesson will go over how to locate water from your environment and how to use devices to extract water when it isn't convenient. You'll learn how to construct a solar still, use a vegetation bag, and how to reclaim body fluids. You can also purify contaminated water of the wild, and this lesson will discuss various methods for doing just that.

Because rope is an important item in the wild, you'll spend some time  learning how to use it effectively. First, you'll learn how to "dress off" the end of a rope so it doesn't fray. Then you'll learn how to tie 10 basic knots plus 10 simple application knots. Later, this lesson will show you how to put it all together with five complex application knots.

This lesson will discuss two very important tools in the survival scene: First, how to choose the proper type of knife for survival tasks, then how to sharpen it. The same techniques will apply to arrowheads and fishhooks, too. This lesson will also address the concept of using firearms for survival, and how to hand load specialty reloads to make the firearm more versatile.
